Happy Happy Joy Joy
Chow down at Chin Chin: Could not be happier about this recent addition to Melbourne’s dining scene. The venue is hip-happening, the food is a south-east Asian menagerie of nom-ness and the cocktails are fresh and fierce. The best seat in the house can be found at the bar - watch the bartenders shake shake shake whilst sipping on their vodka coconut concoctions. Menu highlights include the salt and pepper squid and massaman curry. Enjoy an espresso martini night cap to finish off or head downstairs to the go-go bar to keep a-going.

Gertrude’s got a Green Thumb: Loving the organic ambiance of this tofu-friendly, Bonsoy-loving, earthy cafe/organic food store. Get your Dahl on at Gertrude’s Kitchen and finish with a slice of Lemon and yogurt cake - it’s no doubt the hot delight at your local farmer’s market.
Cycle on over to 108 Station Street, Fairfield to get fresh.
Hipsters Eat/Drink too: Currently sitting in Eat/Drink, Man/Woman dreaming of being reincarnated as a hipster. The latest addition on Brunswick street has got me thinking that I am way too mainstream for this era. Note to self… Rip holes in jeans and scuff new shoes when I get home. If you are planning a visit to this new eatery… Beards will no doubt buy you friendlier service. The interior is a little bit lux whilst the food is a little bit lackluster - rather bland skewers lacking the subtlety of… Flavour. On the plus, the coffee is a winner. It’s clear that the Melbourne hipster is still a good barista. Phew.
